Enjoy the laid-back vibe and soak in a legendary sunset or two. Check out our top suggestions for the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast. 

  • Gibsons is the first town you'll arrive at when you get off the ferry. A great place to grab food if you've got time to kill. Dainan and I live in Gibsons (about 10mins from the ferry) so if you're in town early, let us know and stop by.

  • Sechelt is a cool little town a 20 minutes drive from Rockwater with lots of spots to grab a bite, shop in local artisan shops, or take a dip in Sechelt Inlet.

  • Drive 10 mins north of Rockwater and you'll be at the trailhead. The trail begins in a thick, forested area with lush greenery along an easy-to-follow gravel path. Once you reach the mouth of the cove soak in the beauty from your perch on the rocks that overlook the Straight, Thormanby Island, and Texada Island. 4km roundtrip, lots of bald eagle spottings and a very accessible hike!

  • Provincial park with gorgeous views of Texada Island and the Strait of Georgia. A scenic 17 minute drive up the coast from Rockwater.

  • A 2.2 km trail to an incredible lookout out over Pender Harbour. Total climb is just under 400 m. Would plan to take an hour up and an hour down.

  • Skookumchuck Narrows is a provincial park that is home to the famous standing wave that is a destination of rodeo kayakers from around the world. The park is a 45 minute drive north of Rockwater, with the best surfing rapids being another hour hike from the parking lot. Make sure to check out the tide tables ahead of time!

  • The Sunshine Coast is home to several scenic golf courses, perfect for soaking in coastal views while playing a round, hitting the range, or grabbing a drink on the patio.

THE LIGHTHOUSE MARINE PUB - TOP PICK!

Largest tiered outdoor patio on the Sunshine Coast with panorama views of Porpoise Bay. Watch the seaplanes come in as you drink a Caesar and eat fish and chips. One of our favorite places to bring visitors!

TWENTY TWO TAPHOUSE

Restaurant & Bar located on the way out of Sechelt. They have a large menu, so everyone should be able to find something they like.

WOBBLY CANOE

Located in Davis Bay on your way towards Sechelt. Comfort food, fine drink, and incredible ocean views. Great patio.
